TRAINING

Researchers in the local research community may request instrument training so that they may used the MARTECH instrumentation independently.  This training service is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, post doctoral associates and research faculty who intend to use the MARTECH facilities at no cost.  The training process involves the following steps:

Proposal.  Prospective users of the MARTECH facilities are requested to submit a one to two paragraph mini-proposal outlining their analytic instrumentation needs.

Quiz.  After reading and studying training materials on the theoretical basis of the analytic techniques, a small quiz will be given.  This quiz must be passed before hands-on training is offered.

Practicum.  Upon passing the quiz, hands-on training will be provided.  A practicum must be passed before the prospective user can work with an instrument independently in a self-directed fashion.  Two opportunities will be given to pass the practicum.
